Global Math Prep

Jargalmaa Amgalan

I teach SAT Math and SAT Reading & Writing, along with IGCSE 0580 and Calculus — online, in small groups, to students getting ready to apply abroad.

15+ years teaching Groups of two to five English and Mongolian Dieppe, New Brunswick · Atlantic time

How I teach

I teach in small groups — five students, never more. That is deliberate. With five I can tell who has gone quiet because they are thinking and who has gone quiet because they are lost, and I can stop for either one.

Every student gets their own account on this site, where their homework, their practice tests and their progress all sit in one place. I set it up with each student myself and walk them through it, step by step, until they can use it without me.

Classes are live on Zoom. We talk the concept through first — the reason it works, not just the trick — then we work practice questions together, out loud, so I can hear where the thinking goes wrong. Between lessons there are homework sets and full mock papers, and there are a lot of them. That practice is the part that moves a score.

Step one

Meet the student Begin from what your child can already do, not from where a syllabus says they ought to be by now.

Step two

Find the break Locate the exact point where the understanding stops. It is usually earlier than the topic they are failing.

Step three

Close the gap Rebuild from that point and track the progress against the record, not against a feeling.

Why I started Global Math Prep

I taught in Mongolia, in person, for years. When I moved to Canada my students asked to carry on with me online rather than start again with someone new — so I built the teaching around that. It worked, and it kept growing.

I teach now from Dieppe, New Brunswick, to students in Mongolia and elsewhere in the world, in English and in Mongolian.

Fifteen years before this one

Before Global Math Prep I founded and ran Tsogts Mathematics Training Centre in Ulaanbaatar, from 2010 to 2025. Hundreds of students a year, five programmes running at once, and a teaching team I hired, trained and supervised — including paid interns from the School of Mathematics and Life Sciences at the Mongolian State University of Education.

Every enrolment had a signed agreement. Every session was logged with its date and its hours and countersigned, and parents saw that record. I have kept the habit, which is why this site computes a progress report for your child rather than asking you to take my word for anything.

What students practise on

Between lessons your child works on this site. Every worked solution, every concept chapter and every diagram on it is written and drawn by me; where a question comes from a published source it is attributed where it appears.

6,548Questions worked through in full, not just answered
3,852SAT mathematics questions
2,889Reading & Writing questions, every wrong choice explained
95Taught lessons and teaching modules
24Cambridge IGCSE 0580 chapters — the whole book
11Complete 2025 past papers, marked the way an examiner marks them

Almost all of it is open to read before you decide anything. Have a look around the site first — there is nothing to sign up for in order to do that.

How you will know it is working

Attendance, homework, marks and topic-by-topic accuracy are recorded as the teaching happens. The report is computed from those records at the moment it is printed, not written up afterwards from memory.

A student progress report, names
removed One student’s reportNames and identifiers removed.

Under every figure is the small print naming the rows that produced it — the class diary, the lesson register, the homework tables and the site’s own marking.

Where no record exists the report prints a dash. Nothing is estimated and nothing is entered by hand. Cancelled classes are kept and named rather than quietly deleted, and the strengths and the weak spots are worked out from the same answers as the figures — so you and I are reading one set of numbers.

What students have done

Documented outcomes only. Each of these rests on a record I can put in front of you.

You will not find a score promise here. I do not publish a claim I cannot show you the record for.

My degree certificates, transcripts and the police check are not published here — they carry file and identity numbers that should not sit on a public page. If you would like to see one before you enrol your child, ask me and I will show you.

Global Math Prep is my own independent tutoring practice. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Crandall University, the Mongolian National University of Education or the National University of Mongolia.

What I will and will not promise

I do not advertise a guaranteed score, and I would be careful of anyone who does. How far a student gets depends a great deal on the work they put in between lessons, and no teacher can do that part for them.

What I can promise is my own side of it: lessons that are prepared properly, homework that is marked and returned, honest feedback when something is not working, and my best effort for your child every single week.
